an ode...
i woke up this morning to a dreamy vision of the boston commons. all the trees and flowers were in bloom. the waters were sparkling with ripply reflections of all the tourists, distorted only by the ducks taking baths. i heard broken melodies of saxophonists, guitarists, and even that one girl who tried so hard to make that bagpipe sound anything than really loud.
i woke up this morning recalling my two summers there... one in a damp, dark, dirty apartment room that i paid off with 5 part time jobs... and another where i occupied the vast living space and proved it by covering every empty space on the floor with clutter.
working at bars every weekend, giving away zippo lighters... those long commutes into random towns for tutoring and work... the blistering temperature inside the museum shop... the amazing walk-off david ortiz homers, 5 rows away from actually stepping on the right field... the pop fly that i miraculously caught in center field during softball... top of the hub, multiple times, each with it's own sentimental value... the hours of kareoke--oh the hours!... house-sitting and dog-sitting at 15 n. beacon--oh how loved that dvr~ :) ...my failed attempts at the driving range paired along with my obsession with tennis... OH YEAH FOURTH OF JULY (wow, did that actually happen?)... pat bing soo at pcbang (so pricey but so good)...
